RSS's Three-Day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Meeting Concludes in Indore

The three-day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh concluded in Indore today. RSS chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and around 400 office-bearers and representatives from across the country attended the meeting. The discussions included a review of the Centenary Year programmes, expansion of the organisation, opening of new shakhas and the growing problem of drug addiction among youth.

Plans related to education, expansion of RSS activities abroad and taking the Panch Parivartan (five social changes) to the people were also discussed.

After the meeting, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale addressed the media and spoke on several important issues. On reservation, he said that the system should continue for backward communities as long as social backwardness exists. On the issue of RSS registration, he said that the RSS is a part of society and works according to the laws of the country.

Mr. Hosabale stressed the need to connect young people with positive activities and keep them away from drug addiction. He said that the younger generation is also falling prey to addiction and RSS volunteers are working to address this issue. He also informed that RSS volunteers had carried out relief work in areas affected by floods and cyclones.

In Assam's Sivasagar and Jorhat districts, more than 1,600 volunteers provided food, water and medicines to around 42,200 families. They also provided support to around 150 families for rebuilding their houses. Help was also provided to farmers, fishermen and other affected families in cyclone-hit areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
